the last blog i wrote ended in 2011. while trying to create this one, i read through my blogs from paris and tel aviv.
what a treat to re-read my musings on everything from my failure to learn hebrew to my efforts to learn french. i can barely remember what it felt like to spend the entire day in a train station in barcelona, or to visit a french doctor about a mysterious spider bite, or to return from a three day hike through the north of israel (who are we kidding, of course i remember that hike). but the vividness with which i described my adventures in real time on the blog were so different than how i now - four, five, eight years later - imagine those days.
perhaps this blog will provide me with the same insights to my past self ten years from now as those other blogs do now.
so, welcome to my effort to return to the land of blogging. hopefully with some interesting insights and reflections, and, of course, some funny stories.
